The Billing Off Road Experience is a family run organisation with everyone in the Arrowsmith family adding their individual skill set. If you come along to one of our events or the Billing Land Rover Show, you’re bound to meet some of us.

The Arrowsmiths

Richard-Arrowsmith

Richard is head of all course building and maintenance, and started the business by building the Riverside Course 25 years ago. His experience of historic endurance racing, which took him around the world, has clearly had an influence on the course design.

Due to demand he designed and built the Lakeside Course a few years later. This is all done alongside his very busy life as a farmer. There is much work to be done before the summer to make sure that the course remains exhilarating for the drivers.

Richard’s wife Sarah answers all the emails and phone calls. Contacting the Traders and Clubs keeps her busy for many months before the Show! Richard and Sarah can be seen at many 4x4 and Land Rover Shows canvassing for their Show in the months before the Billing Off Road Show. Their children have become more involved in the business, as they have grown older.

Eldest son Ed has become more involved recently, from helping with this website to standing on the gate to welcome campers and off road drivers throughout the Show weekend. When he wasn’t selling property in London for his day job, he helped knock hundreds of wooden posts in to the ground around the course and the camping area, in order to keep the public from straying!

Younger son Julian has always been interested in the preparation since he was young, helping his father with the extensive electricity cables and water pipes that are needed to service the camping fields. While daughter Imogen’s role is Social Media. During the show weekends, she keeps the showers clean and services the toilets blocks around six times a day! If you've ever experienced poorly run campsites, then you'll know just how important that is! Lastly, the family chocolate Labrador, Treacle. Her 'unofficial' job is to help clear up the leftover food at the end of each event.
